Alchemy Lodge No.3950 was constituted in 1919 under charter from The United Grand Lodge of England.

"A small group of Pharmacists in Birmingham, all past masters in freemasonry, who on Tuesday January 21st 1919, met together in the office of a firm of wholesaler and manufactring chemists in the Lower Priory, in order to discuss the possiblty of forming a Masonic Craft Lodge for Pharmacists and Allied Professions for the Midlands Area, to be held in Birmingham. Subsequently, the following recomendation was agreed; That the name of the Lodge be The Alchemy Lodge"

The Consecration of the Lodge

This took place on Monday 2nd June 1919 at Severn Street Masonic Hall,Birmingham. 

The ceremonony was performed by the Provincial Grand Master Right Worshipful Brother Col WF Wyley assisted by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master the Very Worshipful Brother Canon CW Barnard. The were 24 Founders, of whom 15 were past masters.

 

The current membership of Alchemy Lodge is made up from a variety of professions in a range of industries and no longer soley chemists and pharmacists, this includes the NHS, the motor vehicle industry and various areas of the public and private sector. The common factor is that all members share the same values, standards and integrity and involvement in charitable activities.

We meet every 1st Wednesday in February, April, October and November, at 17.30.
